Find competitors with Python

Get the top 100 competitors, look-alikes, and similar companies for any domain in Python — ranked with match scores, relationship types, and confidence, powered by SimilarIQ's AI research engine. One key, ~60 seconds to first result.

Quick start

pip install similariq
from similariq import SimilarIQ

iq = SimilarIQ(api_key="sk-live-...")
result = iq.search("salesforce.com")

for c in result["competitors"][:10]:
    print(c["rank"], c["company"], c["domain"], c["matchScore"], c["type"])

Or with requests and no SDK:

import requests

r = requests.post(
    "https://similariq.ai/api/v1/search",
    headers={{"X-API-Key": "sk-live-..."}},
    json={{"domain": "salesforce.com", "limit": 100}},
    timeout=180,
)
competitors = r.json()["competitors"]

What you get back

{
  "domain": "salesforce.com",
  "totalCompetitors": 100,

Frequently asked questions

What does SimilarIQ return for a domain?

The top 100 competitors, look-alikes, and similar companies for any company website — each with a 0-100 match score, relationship type (Direct, Indirect, Adjacent, Emerging), a confidence score, and a likely-competitor flag. Results come from SimilarIQ's proprietary AI research engine, cross-validated across multiple intelligence sources.

How much does it cost?

1 credit per search (up to 100 results). Credits come with plans from $6/month ($0.10-$0.24 per search) or pay-as-you-go at $0.50 per search. Free trial searches on signup. Failed searches auto-refund, and reading past results is always free.

How do I get an API key?

Sign up at similariq.ai, then create a key under API Keys in the app. The same sk-live- key works for the REST API, SDKs, CLI, and MCP server.

How long does a search take in Python?

30-60 seconds — the engine researches the domain live across multiple intelligence sources and cross-validates before ranking. Set your HTTP timeout to at least 120 seconds, or use the bulk endpoints for large lists.
